Changes, Oh Changes.

Since I last posted, nothing special has really happened. And that is the brutal truth.

Today, I weeded through my closet picking out the items of clothing that I have needed to get rid of since 4th grade, but needed to hold on to for some reason or another. Ultimately, I was trying to "pack for college." I put that phrase in quotations because I am not really packing, just folding and strewing across my bedroom floor. Also, packing seems so final. And still have a month left! A month actually isn't a lot at all. Talking about packing and buying dorm supplies etc. is all hectic and confusing until you actually think about. Which is what I did a few minutes ago. It's simple. I'm going to college in a month. I am packing for my life there, which is going to be new, exciting, and scary. Anyone who knows me well, or maybe not well at all, but knows me in general will tell you that I am an emotional person. It doesn't take a lot to make me cry, and whenever I think of moving away to college I have to hold back tears. I know, majorly lame.

Just an example of how emotional I am...today I was randomly watching the Iron Man Triathalon repeats on TV and when they showed the finish line, and the strong emotion exuded by each person that finally finished, I began to cry. I don't really know why, maybe because I know what it feels like to accomplish something that significant after hard work. (not saying in ANY way that I have done anything close to an Iron Man Triathalon...) But the faces of relief, happiness, and pure excitement of the racers was something that couldn't be captured in a picture. It was a little overwhelming to say the least.

As for an update on my room, it looks pretty plain right now. I need Greg (mom's boyfriend) to plaster over some parts of the wall, and then we can get to priming. I will post pictures soon...maybe. haha.

So besides what I have already told you, and some unmentionable personal dilemmas (nothing too dramatic, a few skirmishes involving the opposite sex) that is the update for now.

ps. Props to Chloe for being the first (only) follower of my blog! Woohoo, at least one person reads this!

and I almost forgot!

Nothing Entirely Special

Hello!

I decided to create a blog for family and friends all over the world to keep in touch with me while I make the significant transformation into a college student. Honestly, I can't promise that I will write every day, or even every week...but I will try to keep everyone posted. Also, I am unsure as to how much this blog will relate to ice cream at all, but I will include a little tidbit about favorite flavors etc. in each post. Yeah, it's kind of lame, but I am kind of an ice cream devotee.

So let's see. The reason for my boredom lately, which has been immense, is probably the fact that jobs are nowhere to be found, and I haven't spent an entire summer home in around 5 years. It's often difficult for me to feel bored, because I am easily amused. So lately, I have decided to paint my room light green. It would seem like an easy task in my small room, if there weren't 19 year old wallpaper attached to the walls. It'll get done...eventually...In between the endless games of tetris I seem to fit into my schedule every day.

Anyways, I don't know who is actually going to read this, but if you are reading this, I hope you enjoyed my first blog post ever!
